Post by: themauler on April 27, 2012, 21:01:12
Is there any reason why I can't use aluminium/galvanised steel pallets to build a compost heap???

Sound rot proof but they will get cold very quickly I guess. Can you incorporate good insulation? Then you could be on to a winner...  Mind you I've never seen metal pallets , what are they used for?

With the price of scrap metal going through the roof you would be better off selling them and buying something to build the compost bin. They will only get nicked.

If they're free - use them... no problem with them but as above line them with some holed cardboard to allow airflow..
