Title: Greenhouse training clips??????????????
Post by: grannyjanny on April 23, 2012, 15:32:37
When visiting a friend recently she showed me some yellow clips that you slide down & twist, it has a hole in that you train wires through for cucumbers etc. Anybody know what they're called & where I can get some from please. My friend won't know as her husband was the gardener & he died 4 years ago.

Nothing comes to mind, but do these clips fit into the grooves cast into the metal parts of the greenhouse?   ;)   Cheers,    Tony.

I have greenhouse shading fixing clips, these have holes for running wires for supporting plants.

Unfortunately not strong enough for all jobs

I have some that sound like the ones u want Granny. They slide down the grooves in the g/house,then you twist them to enable u to slot string etc through the hole. Now where did i get them from ? it would have either been Wilkinsons or a garden Centre called Gordon Riggs  i would have thought .I have had  them for quite a while though

The plastic ones don't take much weight and snap quite easily.
I've got some metal fixing supports and they will take even a weight of full 16" hangingbasket...bolt nuts&rings are ideal for tying some strings for plant supports..work well with cucumbers etc.

..you get them in garden centres too....get OH to take you for 'little' shopping trip.. ;)....again... ;D

Something's wrong with me...............when I saw the header I thought it was going to be something about being trained how to use a greenhouse, on YouTube maybe.   ::)

Thank you for all your help folks. I think I know what I'm looking for now ;D. Squash & PL, sorry, I did think after I'd put the heading that if I read it I would be wondering how on earth you train a g/h ::).
Goodlife, OH took me out this afternoon. I bought 12 mini fuschias, an Annabel fuschia & a grapevine, sadly Morrison's don't do g/h bits & bobs ::). Now where can we go tomorrow ;) ;D.

I got a pack of 20 green plant support rings from Yorkshire Trading or Boyes gardening section.  They do all that type stuff and are only £1 - £2 per pack of 20.
