Hello Dave61.

I had 160 geraniums from them - no problems.

I had 72 begonias from T&M, but delivered from Jersey. The packaging had opened. The Post Office sealed it up, but it was a disaster for the plants as they had come out of their containers and most were squashed in one half of the packaging. No problems getting a replacement, but the next batch is not being sent until May.

Regards

Bluecar

I have had varying results from many of the postal offers.   Now I stick to the local Garden Centre.  Problem is they don't always have what I want, so it is tempting but no I don't give in.  I look for another Garden Centre, even if it means travelling some distance.
Also regarding sending to Jersey, I am reminded of advice an old gardener gave me back in the 60ties.  I arrived back from Cornwall with some shrubs.   Never move plant Northwards.  Only South.  Makes sense really.

I had 2 different types of begonias and they were both fine.  I buy from Jersey Plants Direct every year and haven't had any problems.

If he has them delivered to the  post office they might be better looked after although not sure how he would go about organising that

I had some bellis daisies last year and first batch were rather squashed and they were replaced, very pleased with the results.  They flowered their socks off.  They were very small when they arrived but soon bulked up though I planted far too close.

last year, i bought T&M's special offer of £3.99 for 96 (think it was this amount) baby plugs of pansies and they arrived sometime in Mar and found them to be pleasantly surprised by the healthy condition of them. as they were quite small (4 sets of leaves) they were shipped pretty promptly to me, so they didn't have time to dry out... sorry about your experiences you lot have had. maybe if you bought earlier offers in the season, maybe they wouldn't have been so dried out...

I was very sorry to read that you have received goods from us in poor condition. Please be reassured that we do have strict quality control measures in place to ensure that all plants leave our nursery in the best possible condition. Unfortunately there is always the risk of damage or delays incurred in transit, which would appear to have been the case here, for which I apologise. Please contact us when you receive your latest order and let us know how they have been received. Kindest Regards enquiries@jerseyplantsdirect.com

Both my father and i have bought plants from jersey plants direct over a number of years, this year i have petunia, fuchsias, and begonias, the fuchsias and petunias are in superb condition, the begonias are not doing as well as they should,i ordered some impatiens, then got a cheap holiday so i emailed them and they put the delivery on hold until i got back, they are a good company to deal with,i would recommend them to anyone.

Just an aside with this company

Did you know that prior to the budget there was no VAT charged on this companies goods, hence I guess T&M and similar companies using them to keep prices down.

Now Mr Osborne has stuck his oar in, and now you pay VAT, or at least so I am told, I haven't used them this year yet but that's the story I have been told.

Does anyone know if this is a fact?
