Title: Moving tomato Plants - for fun !!!
Post by: fitzsie on April 19, 2012, 16:26:14
Just discovered that my little HD camera has time lapsed so thought I would film my tomato seedlings turning towards the sun. :D

The larger seedlings are marmande, so hoping that they make an effort for the tomato competition .

Can be anything from daily to twice a week, depends on how fast they dry out!
They do not want to be too wet or too dry, you'll soon get a feel for it. I do not water until they are getting dryish, but overwatering is just as bad.
BTW if they look like Fitzie's when you pot them on put them then put them low in the pot so that the compost reaches up to just below the first leaves. They always get drawn a bit and by potting them low they will send out more roots.
(No offence meant Fitzie :) )

None taken !!!! I'm a newbie at growing them from seed so any tips on potting them on are gratefully received!! These plants were still in their first pots so if it will at least stop raining for a minute I will be going down the shed "to pot them on "    :D
