Well, todays the day, after Dad passed recently we are 2 hours and counting from gathering to celebrate
his life,....God im nervous....but I was just sitting here twiddling my fingers so I thought Id share my sentiments with you guys.....rightly or wrongly forgive me.....I just wanted to talk.
Mum and dad were married in St marys 57 years ago and so its fitting that we let our mum walk the walk again to remember her husband and my Dad.
Mums gonna be squeeeezed so tight today, and please God I hold it together to read the Eulogy.
Love you Dad
Gary And Judy
Lovely words mate all the best to you and your family .Keep that chin up !
Give it everything you have got to give him a great send off.
A difficult day for you all, will be thinking about you and sending hugs x
Ahh..that sounds 'nice' plan..and celebrating is good way to go about it..rather than all doom and gloom... ;)
Its nice to be able to share emotions in here..somebody has always understanding 'ear' available as we've all have our share of ups and downs...so nothing wrong with sharing...what ever helps.. ;)
I hope it all goes well..and no matter what kind of teary 'floods' will happen..let it..it just shows you cared and nothing to be shame of it.
Have you got big gathering ahead?
Will be thinking of you this afternoon. Give it everything, and just remember all the best things about your dad and your family, and treasure your memories. They won't go away.
Awww sorry to hear your news.
Can feel for you as we did it last June. know how you just wanna talk... Remember the good times and reminisce with family and friends.
Good luck with the eulogy, none of us could do it, but we wrote it, tried to make it a bit humorous.
Hugs x
I hope today is a good day with more smiles after the tears.
Remembering a loving father is a beautiful thing :)
Thinking of you all. Be yourself.
Thinking of you all, hope the funeral goes well.
I'm sure it all went off as well as possible...
Such a difficult day for everyone, I know how you feel, I have been through it myself. just remember all the nice things about your Dad. it will help you through today .
June.x
Gary and Judy,
There will be lots of hugs all round. Many tears and a great sense of relief by the end of the day.
Now is time for sharing lots of stories and memories that have and still will make you smile :)
Thoughts to both of you x
Hope everything went well :)
Thank you so much for the replies and thoughful Pm,s.
I am pleased to say that all went very well, and Dad was remembered in style, with the Eulogies and poem
read with shaking but determined voices and Father Paul did my Dad proud both in the church and crem.
A good 50 people came and went during the day and the afters in the pub that mum and he shared their wedding celebrations in all those years ago went off really well.
Judy and I are just off with mum to take the beautuful flowers to our local family graves near us, so that all the past fam can have a few spring flowers from the bouquets spread amoung them.
anyway,deep breath,life moves on.
Thanks again friends
Gazza x
So glad it all went well, Gazza. It will get better, still sad but the happy memories come back to make you smile x
Hope your Mum will be OK - it is worse for the one left behind.
But we all have to go sometime and it sounds as if your Dad had a good innings.
Take care.
Glad everything went as planned
All the best June.
Glad everything went OK Gazza, all the best, keep an eye out for your Mum. :)
Gazza, I am sorry I read this a little late to wish you well but I am so pleased it all went well. I find holding something belonging to the loved one a great help..
Take care and may your good memories never fade.
XX Jeannine
I am also late catching up with this, I know he was very ill in the winter, but at least he got to see the Spring.

It sounds as though you all did your Dad proud. Like Kev says, you'll need to keep an eye on your Mum now. After all those happy years together, there'll be a huge gap in her life.
Very sorry to hear about your Dad, Gazza (been away for a week). I know he was poorly. My sympathies to you, sending some kind thoughts.
