Very happy today.I have been offered the sweetest little Allotment ten minute walk away.£15 a year.
I recently declined one that had no water and marestail so thought I would have a long wait for something else to come up.
I have a private Allotment at £100 a year.........five mile drive but a lovely site. Will be hard to say goodbye to it but
have finally got one that ticks all the boxes.
The other good news is the old gentleman who had a lovely veg patch right out the back of my house in our communal area has moved on.It is now mine so all my salads and herbs will be right outside the door.
Previous to all this spent a long time growing on little scraps of land so the message is dear reader that all good things come to those that wait LOL. ;D

Very true, £15 a year. It could not get better. Get out there digging don't be wasting your time on here ;D
I would be but we have got to go out and choose wallpaper :'(
What good news, happy gardening! :)
Laura Ashley have 50% off wallpaper. Now you are saving on lotty rent, you can splash out.
Thank you Mike.
I like Laura Ashley and Cath kidson but they are expensive......will investigate :)

Cath kidson
Save your money, just stick all your flower seed packets on the wall. I earned some brownie points with a Cath Kidson handbag I gave to the yeti. She still has not realised it was a knock off from the market ;D
Wicked man :o
Top job Betula, very pleased for you.
Congratulations... :)
very pleased for you!
Well done Betula. Have fun ;D.
Brilliant news, on both counts ;D
Congratulations on your patience - delighted to see it has paid off very well.
An excellent time of year to be a new plot holder too.
Good luck!! :)
So pleased that you have your new little plot. Pictures please ;D
Nice one Bet, just the job with a 10 min walk. :D
Lovely to get a plot near home. I love mine and don't even have to have two sets of tools as it is easy enough to carry what you want to and fro. Well done.
Great news- now you just need the rain to stop if it's anything like here! :D
Really pleased for you Denise,i hope you enjoy it . Good growing all the best .
Regards Mary x. ;D
Such rain.....can't wait to make a start.
Thanks for all the good wishes :)
Excellent news, I'm really pleased for you!
That's good -do you get to join the shed owning fraternity now ;D
Pleased to hear you have got the plot you want.
I am still very pleased with my private site, and hope more farmers can be pursuaded to give it a go. There have been no council plots here for more than thirty years.
Sadly no sheds or Greenhouses allowed :'(
There is a communal shed for tools.I do not understand why they have a thing about sheds around here ???
I too hope more Farmers create Allotment space.
Having a plot so close to home is a bonus though.I have walked past it so many times with the dogs thinking my turn would be a long way away.100 people behind me on the waiting list.
Maybe I can train my dogs to pull a little cart along with my tools on it LOL ;D
Congratulations on getting your plot. One lady who comes to my site as a trailer attached to her bike, works a treat. Hope it stops raining so you can make a start ;D ;D
Probably because more and more people are building ridiculously large ones, some of the ones on my allotment are like small bungalows with toilets, kitchens, unauthorised connections to the water supply for their own taps.
A shared shed I guess would be more secure.
Betula is dead posh.....she is considering Laura Ashley wallpaper for her part of the communal shed :o :P ;D
Congratulations!!!!
Duke
I think the reason a lot of sites ban sheds is the state of a lot of the edifices on older sites.... I had reason to go to one of the big sites in Swindon a few days ago adn my word there were some horrific examples of 80-year old patched horros.... OK it's very trad to have something that looks like it'#s only held up by the prayers of the woodworm but it doesn't look all that good to the uninitiated...
chrisc
Congratulations, especially for the bit out the back, I garden at home and it's lovely to be able to nip out in my slippers for a few mint leaves or a bit of rocket.

And bone china tea
mugs cups... ;D
Great news Betula :)
Congratulations, maybe we should call her Mrs Bucket, or should I say Bouquet. Hope you have got a milk jug and a sugar bowl for when I visit for tea. ;D ;D ;D ;D
Hmmm....got some paper by Twiggy no less and good old Graham and Brown, cream w ith a touch of sparkle, informed it is the latest fashion LOL.
:)
I do own a Kath Kidson mug, unused due to it being rather lovely.
Never realised until today that I can pull my car up right alongside my Allotment....so I have a portable shed.
Managed to get a bit done between the showers...hopping in and out the car when it became torrential.
Any photos ?
Yes on my husbands phone, will load them soon.
