over all it was an easy build with no major tools or electric what you cannot really see in the pictures is that the bottom of the plastic is fully vented with scaffold netting to reduce temps in the summer and the sides roll up and are held in place with delrin clip buckles this will give good airflow around the tunnel i hope this will help someone else out who has ever wondered if its easy to build a tunnel the size is 21 ft by 15 or 315 sq ft regards mal
Looks great, and the air flow idea sounds excellent. Well done.
Well Mal that looks great you have a air flow which will be in use over the summer.Great job what you going to be growing in there , regardless I would say you will receive terrific yields whatever you grow in there ,well done.
i will be growing one of my giant pumpkins in it this year its a little smaller than id like but it will have to do thanks mal
That looks fantastic. You should be very proud of it.
Very nice indeed my son. :D
Job well done should be proud of your self.
Just about to build another myself, the hoops are on the walls are built, trenches filled then the body closed down.
Looks very good!!,
How much do you reckon it cost to build?
Looks great, very envious! ;D
looks very good, we would never get permission to build that on our site :-[ we would only be told it didnt fit in with the rest of the site ???
i am proud of it it worked out real nice i dont know the real price of it as i had a few things already but i know i spent 87pound on supplies but i had the blue pipe and scaffold pipes and netting so id say if i had to price from scratch it would be £200 regards mal
Hmm... that's set me wondering... I just want my tunnel to be a sheltered but not greenhouse equivalent and only through the summer... I might think about going for netting ends rather than closed ones...... hmm....
Nice one
How many metres of blue pipe did it take, and where did you get your plastic from?
Been meaning to make one for years...
What a beauty, like the net sides too :)
Impressive!
Thats great ;D were did you order the plastic from?
Just Like mine but a little bigger.I used net on the doors not the sides

i used five 22 ft pieces of blue pipe so 110ft all in all as for the cover i have a roll of it 11.1m by 25m i bought off a friend for £40 i know this doesnt give a true reflection of the real price but it is what it has cost me i was fortunate to have gathered all the pieces on the cheap regards mal
I'm very impressed... :)
That's very impressive - what did you use to join the door frame to the blue piping. I need to replace my zipped opening with a proper door and am not sure of the best way to attach the frame of the door to the metal tubing frame of the polytunnel.
:-[Very nice that! :)
i used some simple home made metal brackets bent into shape and the fixed them useing beldex screws
Well we are going to have a bash at the home made poly tunnel, couldn't stop thinking about it, asked OH if I can get scaffy pipes will he do it ! got on the phone at 9 o'clock to a scaffolding place asked for some damaged pipes! the chap just told me to come down and put some in the car ,and we did, and then I saw a skip with bits of boards and wood well, ::) I had to ask for some, no probs and all for nothing there are still some good folks about, now the water pipes may have to bye them ;D
WOW, now i've got polytunnel envy ;) well done ;D
