Title: Getting away with it...
Post by: chriscross1966 on April 09, 2012, 20:22:20
Hoping that the Hurst Greenshaft I planted out from their strip modules today survive... if I left them till next weekend they'd have dreadlocked between the strips.... hopefully they'll ocme through but I'll sow some more sometime this week to have a backstop.... and you can never really have too many peas IMHO.... plus now I have a pea shucking attachment for my mixer (kenwood chefs had some oddball kit back in the 70's :D) it should be a slightly easier job to deal with a glut....

Peas are not at risk from a little frost. They are relatively frost hardy.  The -3.2C the other day are of no concern for peas.  Broad beans are not quite as frost hardy (but the recent frost was no issue for them either.  French Beans and Runner beans are the ones you have to watch, they cannot tolerate any frost.  Even +3C is often too cold for them.

Your peas will be ok, if the cold is you only concern.
