Thought it was going a bit too well.......I had my baby tomato plants in plastic greenhouses inside my glass greenhouse and they have always done fine to date, but unfortunately this time that did not stop them getting frosted after last nights bad frost. Looks like the heritage ones I was growing for the plant sale in May fared the worst, so I have been resowing this morning but they won't be very big in a months time..... :-\
All of my aubergines are toast as well, yet strangely the chillies and peppers which were a bit droopy have perked up OK ,I watered them with cold water and they are looking fine now. So much for my big tomato challenge plants, they have keeled over too... ::)
:'(
Have just invested in a little electric frost protection fan from eBay....probably shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted but hey.... ::) We will just have to live with an extension lead permanently out to the greenhouse!
I have a small fan heater in the greenhouse...last year I got caught out and my seedlings froze solid. I had to re sow but was amazed at how quickly everything caught up...more daylight and warmer day temps.

oh that's terrible luck :(
That's miserable - Mine too - well 14 of them dead. There was only a light frost and I thought they would be ok...
The Chilis are fine - weird!
Back to the drawing board..
Gutted lost 12 tomato plants last night, they were in a plastic greenhouse that was line with bubble wrap and polystyrene sheets was told we had a bad frost :'( :'( :'(
yep,so much for polly tunnels, just come back from the plot.
8 tommies,6 peppers, all nackered and kenya beans outside didnt last the night either..... :'(
Glad to hear I'm not the only one... :( Lost 2 toms on Wednesday and another 4 yesterday. Thought they would be sheltered in the greenhouse and no frost here. Poor things are looking a bit sad, first they got scorched and now they've got cold! If any survive at all it will be a miracle. Only need 9 for the grow bags though so could lose a few more quite safely, though hopefully not! Funny though, the aubergines and peppers in the same greenhouse are fine. Even the 3 cucumbers that I'm struggling with are looking OK.
Chuck some fleece over them at night so they can all snuggle up.
IT was only Sungold tomato's that suffered the frost, the other ones were fine,so were the cues peppers, courgettes ,and flower seedlings ! ??? thank goodness :)
