Title: Liver and bacon casserole
Post by: Tin Shed on March 19, 2012, 19:13:44
I am cooking liver and onion casserole and have probably made too much - does it freeze OK? A google search gives mixed answers!

Or if anyone is nearby I will be serving in about 10 mins, but you will have to bring your own baked potato  ;D

Hi,I cant begin to know about the freeezing proporties of your din din,but what I do know from experience is that you have an ideal combo to make tomorrows lunch by adding some chopped grilled  bacon and leek to your existing Liver and onions and either make or buy some shortcrust pastry and you have a yummy Pasty,I would drain the gravy and leave the remains "just wet",adding quick frozen mixed veg will bulk the Pasties.

Im not a fan of freezing dinners like yours but will be interested to read if others do, and what it tastes like when re heated.

Hello! Am I too late in my reply? Hope not.

Yep, it freezes beautifully - just think of all the Ready Meals in the freezer cabinets in the shops. It would be totally impractical for me to cook one portion meals every day, using the oven etc., and I do it.

Hope this helps.

Well, it is in the freezer and my daughter has her beady eye on it! I don't think it will last long in there!

Will report back later when she has eaten it ;D
