picture in my blog. Thanking you in advance :-)
I would go for...
Asparagus
or
Achillea
or
Fennel (does it smell of aniseed?)
Would leave it in place and see.
Looks very much like fennel for me too.
I too was thinking asparagus... there are loads of plants popping up all over the plot. So as you say for the time being I am going to let them grow and see what they turn in to ;D

not sure of the smell, will have a sniff next time i go to the lottie.
Looks like fennel to me.
Fennel self seeds everywhere, so hard to say if it is a plant or a weed, depends where it is.
The debris and leaves look typically of fennel but you'll know once you smell it..
Love in the Mist?... otherwise known as the spice Kalonji.... the thing that makes Naan bread smell like naan bread
A weed is a plant in the wrong place, or so they say! It'll be interesting finding out anyway. Asparagus would be nice, but I'd say it's a mite early for that. Fennel does get everywhere- I once planted one plant, and it's a battle all through the summer to keep it under control.
Another vote here for fennel.
I also agree to fennel
and another vote for fennel, good with fish and salads
i must say there are bits of this plants popping up all over the plot, so it is probably fennel. What does fennel smell like?
It has a very strong aniseed smell, you can't mistake it.

I went up lotties a few days ago and it is indeed fennel :-) There are lots of it oppping up all over the place :o
makes nice tea
makes nice tea
Yes it does.. ;D..as I only just discovered after having it growing in my lottie for years and self seeding all over the place..and I never really had any use for it.. ::) Only couple of weeks ago I finally had courage to actually taste it as 'tea'. I'm not overly keen for anything with aniseedy taste..BUT...for my great surprise it tasted beauuutiful.. ;D
Now my plants can't keep up growing as much as I want to harvest....so far...I've spotted some seedlings popping up all over the place although I thought I weeded most of them out last year.. ::) Perharps trip to 'specsavers' would be in place.. ::)
