Title: Scotch Egg Pasties

Needed something to shove in my snack box when boat or beach fishing.....OKOK.....anytime basically.

Knock up some Short crust Pastry.

400g Plain Flour
4oz Butter cubed
4oz lard cubed
1/2 tsp salt
cold water.

First ..........Boil eggs and cool..!!!!!!!!!!!

add the above ingredients in a bowl and add tablespoons of water at a time till ingredients combine together to form soft dough.
Fridge for 30 mins.

Pasty Filling

Contents of 6 Cumberland Pork sausages
6 spring onions chopped.
salt pepper to taste.
boiled eggs/cooled

Chop 6 spring onions and mix with contents of 6 pork sausages.
Fridge for 30 mins.

Ready to use cooled pastry and sausage mix

Roll out dough on floured board 3 to 4 mm thickness to 18 cm Diameter approx= large tea plate.

spread sausage mix to within 1 cm of edge.

add 1 cold egg to centre and season.

wet edges with water and bring up edges together,crimp together.

Finally egg wash pasties.

Preheat oven to 190 degrees and cook for 20/25 mins on middle shelf.

remove from oven and serve or let cool.

I only know of the river Wandle in Wimbledon :D where do you go fishing?

Oh blimey,Petengade,Living nr Heathrow I guess when money allows I enjoy boat fishing from Portsmouth with a few mates on their small boats in the Solent......or.......Beach angling in the same area.....or Dungeness in Kent or.....The Bristol Channel.

Freshwater Angling I was brought up 1/2 a mile from the Thames @ Sunbury On Thames and spent christ knows how many years chasing anything that swims.

These days I mostly sea fish.

well you did ask  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!............. ;)

Gazza they sound wonderful :)

I make a sausagemeat plait filling that could be used similarly in that i make up a pack of sage and onion stuffing mix and allow it to cool then add to 500g sausagemeat, it would make a good flavour around the egg and also slightly reduces the fat content :)

I am definitely going to have a go at yours though, my boys would love breakfast in a pasty :)

I just made a couple for supper.  I promised my wife that I'd prepare a salad for this evening.  But that's OK.  They can be served with salad.  :o

Tulipa,I may try your sage and onion mix for Jude but its not my Cuppa tea.

I think me mum must of force fed too much into me as a kid..... ::)

Decided to have the Sausage Egg and Fried Onions as it came outa the oven,naturally it had to have a Tommy sauce bath...!!!!!!..it was scrummy.

Jeeeze Im gonna have to walk some mileage at the Hospital to lose this lot of me wasteline.
