Post by: manicscousers on March 14, 2012, 10:06:30
Can I underplant these with ordinary cabbages?

I would say no because they grow quite a bit of foliage up the stem too, unless you spaced them out quite well.

Okay, will give them half a bed and plant the rest up with a cover as usual. I'm quite glad, really as the cover would've had to be huge. I got the seeds free so thought I'd do them as this year's novelty  ;D

Just to get you confused.   I'd say yes because the walking sticks will grow far faster than the 'standard' cabbage so won't stop too much sun.   ::)  Cheers,    Tony.
