Title: Peas in growbags?
Post by: Gordonmull on March 12, 2012, 20:48:18
Has anyone had any success with peas in growbags? I've got a hedge down one side of the garden that I think they would climb up rather nicely but with so much digging to do elsewhere I'd like to take the easy way out on this one.

Peas growing in growbags.....Im not sure growbags are deep enough Gordon, you could try ring culture as with tomatoes.Make sure they dont dry out and shade the roots. Its worth trying, I know people have grown peas in large pots but how successful they were I dont know.

Let us know how it works if you decide to use growbags....good luck :)

Thanks, Star. I kind of expected depth might be a problem, which is why I asked. I've still got some pea seed left over from last year so I might give it a bash in a bag of wilko's "finest" for a cheapo experiment. When it all goes horribly wrong I'll be sure to report back!

Ring culture looks interesting. I hadn't heard of that before.

Next daft newbie question coming up soon!
