Helloo, well its that tiem of the year again,is it too early to plant out mt charlotte seed pots? im in west sussex and want to get going on my plot, but i know there is the chance of late frost in March, whats your opinion please,
many thankss, Ant :)
Go for it!
I planted 3 charlottes under a cloche at the weekend.
It would have been Lady Chrystls but I am still waiting from T&M to send them out >:(.
Just watch the sky for clear nights and be ready with some fleece.
But I would still do a First Early if I had any.
Oh thanks, i picked them up in Wilinsons, , pack of 5 for £ 1.18, got myself 2 packs , will get them in tomorrow, :) :)
That's a big risk you are taking this early, you should protect them from the start with fleece, or grow in a greenhouse in Big pots.

If they are fleeced they will be fine
Even if they got frosted, it would only affect the topgrowth. Putting them in early gives them more time to develop the roots, and shoots very soon grow back.
I'm pushing my luck but my spuds are in with fleece at nights because they have leaves through. If there still underground they should be ok unless you expect -8 or so......
Mine are going in tommorrow fairly deep. We earth uo straight away creating the mounds and fleece.
