Had a bit of a shock this morning, was messing about on the computer with BBC News 24 on in the background.
The name Cynthia Bower made me look at the TV,I know that name I though t.http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2012/feb/23/nhs-watchdog-cynthia-bower-resigns?CMP=twt_gu
Sure enough a much older looking Cynthia was my work colleague in the eighties. We worked in social services and she was a young very dedicated social worker. She was and I am sure is a lovely person.
I lost touch with all of our group over the years and had no idea Cynthia had come so high in the ranks.
I have often thought of them all over the years as I count that time as one of the best of my working life.
Things have not been great for her by all accounts but knowing her as I did I will not believe all I read.
