Lost the last of my broad beans to last nights frost. Thinking of trying Imperial Greenlong Pods are they any good, and what height do they grow Thanks everyone ;) :)

I'm a green longpod fan too, exhibition I think mine are :)
I sowed seed saved from last year, in October and have worried all winter that they have grown a bit too big, but they have mostly survived the frost. 80% are fine and the others look like they will grow again from the base. Are you at altitude or just prone to hard frosts?
As for the variety, I grew two varieties on this plot last year - Bunyards Exhibition and Masterpiece Green Longpod. I then forgot which was which so I'm not sure which seed I planted in the autumn. The other variety was planted this week but the first will take a lot of catching up. If it gets as warm as they forecast I think there will soon be flowers.
Mine were finished off, not by frost, but by mild damp weather. I've noticed before that it seems to be hard on them.
My Broad beans are going in this weekend, after trying to over winter Brassica's last it was in my case a wast of time and money, I'm past the habit of putting things in early :)
Aquadulce sown last year in raised bed doing really well - lightly fleeced all winter.
I'm trying Sutton this year as recommended for windy sites... All germinated in poly and now our neighbourhood friendly rat is no more they are growing well in border as i was afraid to risk them in the frosts and drought outdoors. Have set another lot to go outside plus some saved seed which is a windsor [my fave] x with some left over aquadulce from a year or two back. The results will determine the mix.. ;)
