I have a large acer and a topiary rhodoendron both in pots.
when am  I supposed to give the darlins a feed? (the rhody is happily budding away!) Too early now?   Thanks DP

The Acer would wait until a bit later. The rhododendron, if in bud would probably need feeding from now. There are special ericaceous feeds for them, slow release tablets are best of all, just pushed into the soil. If they have been in pots for any length of time, it may well be worth removing the top inch or so of compost and replacing it with new ericaceous stuff too, for both of them that is.
