Here it is 1st February 2012, in Ontario Canada, and my husband has just dug 5 leeks from the garden. I don't know what you think . but I think that's is pretty good........ qahtan ;-)) :)
Sounds good to me... but I'm new to allotments.. I love Canada - have many relatives all over Ontario and Vancouver..
Sounds good to me too!
Sounds good Quatan :D
I dug out the last of mine from my garden in December, when we had unusually mild weather.
Pleased I did - I'd need a pickaxe to get any out now ;D
It was -6 C when I walked the dog at 6.15am yesterday :-X

well it is a very long time since I last posted, time again about leeks, due to bad health my husband is unable to garden much these days, but we do still have some leeks left from last year
and they look really good, well the tops do, I suppose if nothing else they will be good for flavouring..
The weeds in the back garden are doing really well.
Blossom wise have our first rose out and a lovely show of lily of the valley..
Apricot and plum trees seem to be fruiting OK but tons being blown off by the strong wind,, cut an apricot in half yesterday and it was nice and clean even though they have not been sprayed.
so keeping our fingers crossed for a better harvest this year than we had last,. qahtan
Hi Qahtan, nice to hear from you1
I've never grown apricots, do they form the year before? how come you have fruit so early?
yes they flower and fruit all the same year, we should pick them around july as they are about the size of a cherry at the moment but oval.. these two trees were grown from pits, both are different. one is smaller that the other....... last year we didn't get any, some years we have so many we give them away to any one that wants them, usually in 6 quart baskets.. qahtan.
we never cut/prune the trees as we were told they don't like that
