Title: Marmalade Season
Post by: Pescador on January 16, 2012, 14:12:10
Marmalade "brewing" in full swing whenever time permits.
So far I've done Fine Cut Seville, and Chunky Whiskey. Ginger to be done next.
(Mulled Clementine went down well over Christmas)

Yes, indeed - what great choices, Pescador.
The Seville oranges are in Leeds market now, but I've still got plenty in the freezer from last year, even after a last minute batch for Christmas presents!  :)

What price are they asking for Sevilles? I paid £1.50 for 2lb.

Last year it was £1.20 for 2lbs, but given that everything has gone up I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same as what you paid.  I'll double check when I go into town tomorrow. :)

If anyone is passing by Leeds outdoor market today, the price was £1 for 2lb of Seville oranges. Just the one stall sells them, at the far end directly behind the coach station.
