Title: Elephant Garlic
Post by: philistine on January 08, 2012, 20:42:50
I have recently started some elephant garlic gloves off in toilet rolls, they have all sprouted
and are about 2 inch high now, can I plant them straight outside or do I need to harden them
off first ?

If it's mild, as it is here, put them out...  :)

It's what you wear when planting elephant garlic to stop your hands smelling.

Yes, plant them out now, hopefully we'll have a blast of cold  & frost to split & separate the cloves.

Otherwise you'll find that you've grown mittens.  ;)

You can plant them out any time the ground isn't frozen.
