Tonight I tried to check emails but my account had been blocked by my service provider due to "spam and unusual traffic content" sent from it. I went through the provider to get it reset. When I logged in there was over 20 messages that had failed to send - all blocked by the provider as part of their security.
The offending email that had been sent to all in my address book read "click on this link to see what i did at new year". I have warned off all my address book friends to delete emails sent by me today and yesterday as i was not logged on!
Just passing on the scam.
I presume you've run a full virus scan now.
CHEERS will look out for this ;)
My brother has just said his computer has been sending out e-mail, so looks like you both have a virus.
I had an email supposedly from sister-in-law saying click here to see photos. I didn't open it as it didn't seem right so I checked with her, she hadn't sent anything.
Happened to me three times last year on three separate email accounts!! Not a virus on the PC though. I only knew because my husband received an email from me that wasn't an email from me! Signed in, changed passwords, all ok since. In fact, I think I posted on here about it at the time and BarrieDN gave me some info (or I might just be imagining that)
It happened to me, a lot of irate friends as the email keep coming and it wasn't me. BT sorted it out after a long telephone call, but still a bit wary of email. Think it may have been after I clicked something on facebook, but maybe not. Anyhow very annoying, and I pay for security.
