hi,can anyone tell me if its OK to use glypsophate this time of year ? i need to kill off a strip of meadow grass to plant some hawthorn hedging later this month,any got any advice i have about 1000 bereroot plants to put in.cheers rick

I would wait until fresh young growth starts in spring!

Glyphosate only really works if the treated plant/s are actively growing.

OK during this mild spell they might be growing a little, but at the next cold spell this growth will cease so you might be wasting your time doing it now!

You'd be wasting it i you used it now. It only works when the plant is actually growing. Wait till April if you must use it. I see the problem if you've got a long hedge to plant, though. Can you get a rotavator onto it? It would have to be a pretty powerful one to get through the turf.
