Hi
(not sure this is the right sub-forum, but I can't find a more suitable one)
Can anyone recommend a good plant identification book, portable and covering sub-tropical ones?
Thanks

Plant ID books tend to be region or country specific. Do you have a particular place in mind?
Yes, Southern China (Guangdong/Hong Kong area most specifically) and if possible South-East Asia.
Thanks :)
Well, that's not the reply I expected! That's a toughie I think. I'm not sure you'll get something that will cover all the flora of such a huge area. It certainly wouldn't be portable. These are the best I can find:

Have you thought about online resources - there are some comprehensive databases that you could access using a netbook/tablet/smartphone etc.
I bet you get specific book for that are from Kew pages..but they are awfully expensive..
Thanks for the replies.
It's not that huge an area if I focus on Guangdong and Hong Kong. Was thinking there should be something in English written about Hong Kong flora and fauna and that would be similar to southern Guangdong.
I would search online for it myself or look in Hong Kong bookshops, but not much time and thought someone might know.
Never mind.
