Title: Storing your Crop
Post by: Alhambra on November 23, 2011, 23:35:23
I'm a bit miffed as most  of my onions and shallots that I had hanging in the garage on strings have gone soft and the insides are looking mouldy.

Secondly, my potatoes that I also have in the garage in hessian sacks are showing signs of sprouting, they are still useable and tasty.

What could I have not done properly?  I'd appreciate any advice.

Don't think you have done anything wrong..............my onions in baskets are ok but my Cara potatoes are sprouting too, hessian sacks for those in the understairs cupboard. Never had tats sprouting this early so must be down to an abnormally mild autumn.
