Title: What am I doing wrong?
Post by: lottie lou on November 20, 2011, 21:04:09
For the second year running I have dug up my celeriac to find despite lovely foliage, there is nothing on the end.  What the heck am I doing wrong?

Too much nitrogen and not enough phosphorus? Not enough water?

Have you removed any of the foliage as they grow... some say this helps the bulb develop... I'd go for yet more water myself... just short of growing it in a stream...  :-\

Our biggest 6lb were grown in 3 yr old muck, sown in modules in march and transplanted in april. never watered, took the odd leaf off and have never grown them that well before  ;D

i gave up growing these to, same problem. i tried everything apart from growing them in a bog garden. i can't grow celery and i would have thought they are in the same family
