Hi there! I have just been kindly donated a greenhouse frame thats about 12 years old. Its an 8 by 6 aluminium frame with no instructions! The owner cannot find as yet the jar of nuts and bolts. Does anyone know what size they will be and roughly how many I will need? Any help appreciated....
I'd start with e-bay. Something like this (http://"http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50-aluminium-greenhouse-nuts-bolts-genuine-Elite-/290607000699?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Garden_Structures_Fencing_CV&hash=item43a986ec7b") - I haven't ever used them, they just came up first in the search for "greenhouse nuts bolts". No idea how many, sorry.
Thanks! Just thought if I needed a hundred it would be screwfix maybe but I dont even know the make of it! ???
Also you might need the springs that hold the glass in place, :)
Yes but I think they may all be the same size.?

All of the greenhouses I've seen appear to use the same size fixings for nuts, bolts and clips. Other than clips and channel bolts I think you need a handful of regular nuts and bolts for things like the door frame. It's worth a bit of a shop around, as at £5 per bag you could seen spend quite a bit more on fixings than on the secondhand greenhouse itself.
Thats helpful do you know what this standard size is in mm?

Great firm, also do a cropped head bolt which can be used after the frame or a greenhouse has been put up.
Thank you thats really helpful!
or try your local freecycle, folk often dismantle and give away so there might be folk throwing away and you could have the bits
Our local garden center sells the spares fot green houses, nuts and bolts, glass w clips and z clips.
Thanks everyone!
Try Wilkos
Wilkos only do them in bags of 25 so the cost soon mounts up. They also only do the standard square head bolts, no good if your greenhouse uses mushroom head bolts like one of mine does. Evilbay is a good place for them.
If you know the manufacturer, Google it + accessorries. I found a supplier of a very old GH i own and came up with a local supplier who sold accessories ie nuts bolts glazing clips and, in my case, a louvre kit with toughened glass for £41.

You can get the lap clips for the glass and the nuts and bolts off ebay, thats where i bought mine from.

We inherited a 6' x8' aluminium greenhouse from a friend who was moving home to the States. We took photos of each bit before we dismantled it. I can forward them to you if you want to semd me a PM with your email address.

ah yes, i tend to do that when dissasembling something ive never had to bits before. Aldi opened up locally and were offering for their opening a digital camcorder, 600 x 12 megapixel still images, 3 hours HD p1080 video, rechargeable, 3.5" screen, only £30, staggeringly good value, so i bought one, has proved very useful. I keep it in the car in case of prangs.
