Dan, I came home from my Norwegian class (don't ask) to find your message and so had some dinner and tried again...  Wow it was like bursting into a new brilliant but puzzlingly familiar place where everything was new and familiar at the same time!!! (Did I say the same thing twice ??? ::) ::))

It's great! Thanks!

Very fast! Well done Dan!!

Only one slight problem - I had to log in again and reset my password. (I never wrote the original one down - I will this time!) Has that happened to anyone else?

This is "the" true broadband experience I had hoped for!! Often it's sluggish with other sites.

Now A4A must be the fastest loading site I use. This morning it's magic!! :)

Lincs - you have traced the wrong web site

You have traced allotments4u.co.uk which is on the IP your trace ends up - do a lookup on the domain or IP - the domain is held by 123 reg in the UK
Our lovely allotments4all.co.uk seems to now be hosted in the Netherlands..

IU got curious about the other domain name. It responds to a ping, so its registred and with DNS, but theres noa actual site.

It is a bit odd but I have a couple of domains registered through 123reg and when you buy one you can just "park" it until you decide what you are going to do with it.  That means they stick a DNS entry up but the IP actually points back to webfusion (123reg by a different name) - I guess it's quite handy to direct traffic back to the 123reg homepage...

Yes, you would expect a company to do that, but thats registered by a private individual and hasnt been touched for two years, so whats the point of having it. Hope the hosting is free or cheap, otherwise its an expensive hooby!!
