A lady (or man using a woman's name) wrote 'inspirational' sayings/poems, slim volumes invariably to be found in Dental Surgeries waiting rooms..
A friend and I both know the little books concerned, but trying to remember the name of the author has been driving both of us mad all afternoon.
Any ideas, please?
Well, as soon as I posted the question a name popped into my mind - Helen Steiner Rice. Sure that's it.
Whew! If my friend and I could have remembered that we could have done lots of other things this afternoon - like trying to remember the name of our Biology mistress at school or something equally useless. :o
Me, talking to myself. Well just Googled and tho she's trite enough, I'm not sure......
Another name - Mary something?
But btw - our Biology Mistress, she of the steel-rimmed specs and sensible tweed skirts, was Miss Beecham. ::) ;D
I like helen steiner rice :)
Sorry, Lish, can't help ;D
Patience strong ??
Francis Gay? There was a series of 'Friendship Books'........
Spot-on Small, it's the Friendship Books I was trying to remember! But Betula, if I'd not found out that these were written by Francis Gay, I'd have thought your guess at Patience Strong was right ;)
Whew, glad that that's been solved. Can go to bed in peace now ;D
