Hope we are not heading for another crash :(
Running good for me today.
I do find at odd times I have to wait a few seconds for a response but that is not often.
Yes I have heard it is different for various users, taking ages for my posts to load
and looking at reply to posts.
Sadly when this happens a crash has followed but hopefully not this time. :)
I believe that there's a pattern to some of the forum slowness. My observation is that it happens at weekends when it's possible the hosting company is doing maintenance. This usually co-incides with search being disabled due to server overload. I noticed it slow yesterday but fine today. Fortunately crashes are few and far between and I don't think they're associated with these weekend dips in performance. Compared with other forums I'm a member of, I don't think we have a greater level of forum downtime. It seems about the same to me.
During my time on here the crash has always followed the forum running slow.
As for not being able to access reply to posts it happens a lot and no particular pattern to it.I doubt it is due to maintenance but the truth is we don't know do we?Just guessing.
What happens when you try to reply to posts? I wasn't aware there's a problem and I doubt if Dan is either.
Should have wrote show replies.
You are aware of that as you have said so before. My mistake for not being clear.
I'll clarify too - I'm not aware of any current issues with replying to posts. ;D
Tha site is seriously sloooooooooow anyone else think so.
I shall drop Dan the man a line right now.
ping and tracert is good now, no probs.
Dan's already on the case - he's migrating the forum to a new host. Some work was done overnight last evening and there is more scheduled overnight Wednesday / Thursday. Dan posted about it and there's an announcement above the thread list on all the forum pages. I suspect he has his hands full right now.
Been slow for me too... so I wandered off for a while... sure Dan will get it sorted! :)
very slow now.
We can put this thread in the bin now thanks to Dan
