I'm interested in companion planting and generally being as eco-friendly as possible on my plot (to the verge of going as organic as I can on a site where a lot of other people use pesticides)
I know about
Aliums and marigolds - carrots
sweetpeas and poached egg plant - peas and beans
basil - tomatoes
does anyone else have any others i can try?
there have been several posts on subject in the past.

Welcome to A4A AlexC. Please forgive the abruptness of the previous poster.
Borage is supposed to be good for strawberries. I quite like having phacelia around my brassica beds seems to keep the pigeons and deer off them.
Now, now..PL..we have always answers for those who seek.. ;)
Alex..welcome from me too.
I find companion planting generally beneficial..although not much with specific plants.
Often just presence of other flowering (insect loving) plants is enough to provide pest control, pollinators etc.
This year I tried Oca with tomatoes..one that Ian Pearson..member here..has been doing and it seem to be very happy 'marriage'.
But like Digeroo..I have borage, phacelia and poppies self seeded all over the place.
Little bit of 'weediness' is good thing and it gives places for all the 'friends' to live and dine with foes.. ;)
I always put french marigolds in the Gh with the toms
nasturtiums near brassicas are supposed to get the caterpillars on instead of your veg, so I've been told :)
we use french marigolds in the tomato beds, plus poached egg with fruit trees/bushes, also, welcome to a4a ;D
