Title: Got a gardening blog? Which? Gardening mag recommends
Post by: pg on October 30, 2011, 17:51:35
I know quite a few forumites have their own websites and gardening blogs. So you might be interested to know that the latest issue of Which? Gardening (November) has a long feature on gardening blogs - what they are and how to start one - written by the gardening bloke at River Cottage (www.otterfarm.co.uk).

Recommended blogs include:

www.blackpitts.co.uk/blog
www.lialendertz.wordpress.com
www.bensgarden.wordpress.com
www.goodenoughgardening.com

all of which I found quite dull, as they didn't get to the point. I find if I can't figure out the point of a particular blog entry within a couple of sentences then I read no further.

So can anyone point me at some good gardening blogs that are about gardening? Your own for instance.
Please, please find me something good to read (other than this forum!)

I do not wish to appear pedantic ... but what exactly is a blog?

If you think that it is akin to a diary then what you get may be enjoyable but in the majority of cases it is unlikely to be particularly informative.

If you want to be informed then websites are more likely to be what you want ... and yes I know that I am generalising here.

Anyway, on the page that is referenced below you will see various links to websites, mainly A4Aers or ex-A4Aers in the left-hand column plus links to blogs in the second column. Fyi - Jane Perrone works for The Guardian and wrote a book on allotments several years back but her blog has morphed into a more general horticultural beast these days.

Hope that they help a bit.
