my late sown field beans did great last year, the early sown ones were killed by the harsh winter ??? ???

It's OK if you have a 10,000 HP tractor, but it's not something I'd want to be turning in by hand.

I found it hard work to turn in too, hench do not grow any more. Esp. now I am no dig.
Very good for making the soil nice and friable though.
