Post by: plainleaf on October 26, 2011, 01:36:10
what are you veg planting plans for 2012?

I just did all my garden bed with fresh compost and manure except one for winter lettuce and broccoli
but  i will be growing several giant veg plant for 2012: tomato, watermelon and pumpkin.

as for rest that will be using my integrated interplanting, companion planting, produce production  range calculator  and rotation system.
complete details on my system would take too long to explain, in anything but diagrams and there are over 100of them to much info for a thread on this board.

Perhaps you could post them on a blog and give us a link.  Or do we have to wait a little longer for the much promised book? ::)

For me there is not much to plan.  Got the seeds mostly cheaply.  Got various spaces these will be filled as rotation and the time of year dictate.  The spaces for the early crops:  broad beans, peas, brassica seed bed and potatoes etc are covered with compost or green manure awaiting the arrival of next spring.

More basil,
more parsley,

another try at Gilfeather turnips,

additional types winter squash- I like seeing a pile of different varieties, fewer butternut

more autumn/winter lettuces grown protected by an old shower glass door

more improvement of our clay soil with organics
