Following the fun that was enjoyed doing this last year a couple of members have contacted me offering surprise presents so we can do this again.
Thanks to grannyjanny and pumpkinlover!!
So there will be 6 small Christmas Gifts which will be sent to 6 of the first 49 that donate this year.
To make it a truly fair random choice of who will receive these surprise Christmas presents I propose that each of the first 48 people that donate can choose a number between 1 and 49 (first donation first choice! one choice per person!)
Then the six that will receive the surprise gifts will be the winning numbers from the Lotto main draw on Saturday the 10th of December which should allow enough posting time for them to arrive in time for Christmas.
The winners can elect to have the present delivered to their local Post Office or other address if they wish.
The aim of this is to try and make it interesting and get more people to donate this year.
If however we do not get near the 49 donations we will arrange a draw out of a hat for the gifts.
So when you have made your donation just come here and post the number you would like!
I will place a list of the taken numbers every few posts to make it easier to see which numbers are left.
Please try and keep this thread to number choices only

It is not compulsory but then you might not choose correctly this year anyway ;D
Maybe you might like to opt in if we do not have a full take up of numbers near the end.
Number 45 please :D
17 please.
And thanks for taking this on. :)

Picked up my parcel from the post office today - thank you so much. Loved the card - Hoe, hoe, hoe! Will open it on Sunday.
Yes the card was very good.
It was specially designed for Thrive by Martin Rolfe
He seems an excellent sketcher as can be seen in his blog at
http://martinsonlinesketchbook.blogspot.com/
I particularly like the two articles/ drawings of the staff at thrive.
I'm almost lost for words! :) I've just opened my present to be surprised and delighted at just how generous it is.
There are a Spear & Jackson stainless steel/wooden handled hand fork and trowel, a pair of Spear & Jackson Medium Bypass Secateurs, two smiley Coasters, a packet of Lindt mini milk chocolate truffles and the biggest, woolliest slug that I've ever seen which is green with purple lips!
I really can't thank those of you involved - Pumpkinlover, Ninnyscrops, Hector, Grannyjanny and Davyboi - enough for all these wonderful items.
Thanks so much for my lovely surprise runners-up present :) I got a lovely card and a book on veg growing. It's very much appreciated.
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas :)
Jackie
We finally had a few minutes to open our presents, thank you for your generosity. Our new tools will be taken to the plot tomorrow and our old ones will be donated to our special needs group ;D
Love the knitted slug and the seeds will come in very handy, more new squash to try ;D
The chocs will be shared later with everyone. Thank you to everyone involved, I hope you got all you wished for in your Christmas stockings ;D
Now that the turkey is sorted and cooking nicely I just wish to thank you for a lovely present. I got tools chocs, seeds and bath bombs.
Thank you and Merry Christmas everyone XXX
I'd love to see a photo of the knitted slug!

This is the sample picture Hector sent me but I am sure Mike will take a better one for you
That really made me laugh! Thanks Dave, it's brilliant!
That photo is better than the one I took! Squash it stands about 10" high, is at least that round the middle and has a little tail.
So when I said big...! Any suggestions for a name?
Hope this works, here's a side shot of a smaller slug...they come in various sizes....largely dependant on whether or not the knitter is concentrating or watching a gripping thriller on TV and not counting rows :P

I never thought I would ever say this - but what a lovely, cute, cuddly slug!

Mike, you have taken the words right out of my mouth! I too was struck by the generosity of the gift - I got the same as you but seeds instead of coasters - and I loved the card too. :D
Chloe, my two year old granddaughter, immediately grabbed the slug, sat on it, and called it Mr Squashy. ;D
So thank you very much indeed Pumpkinlover, Ninnyscrops, Hector, Granny Janny and Davyboi - a perfect present. :)
Happy New Year
