Title: Maggots.
Post by: Good Gourd 2 on October 10, 2011, 15:10:59
HELP. I have a dustbin that I put sheep muck and comphrey leaves in a hessian sack, then fill the bin with water leave for the winter then in the summer I make tea to feed my veg on. I went to fill it up today and there are loads of creamy coloured maggoty things swimming about. What should I do just stir em in or start again and clean the bin out.  ???

don't worry about the maggots..they will disappear soon.. ;)
If the good long soak under water doesn't kill them..winter does.. ;)
The maggots would have hatched from the muck.

Do they have long thin tails? It's worth looking out for rat tailed maggots in putrid watery concoctions - hoverfly larvae & aphid munchers...
