Title: rumbledethumps

shread up1lb cabbage and a good size onion fry till cabbage is well wilted ,boil potatoes 2/3lb roughly mash them with salt pepper,get a oven proof dish,put half cabbage and onion in the dish salt /pepper and a small trickle of double cream not to much!put half the potatoes on top,repeat this once more,grate half a pound of Cheddar cheese we like Strong stuff,put in-the oven till golden brown about 180 for electric .a good way to use up cabbage and a veggie dish its Scottish serves two/three.

I remember getting this at my grannies house in Ellon. Its a regular feature at our house, served with sausage. There is a version of it in the Ma Broons cook book. It's agreat name an brilliant to get kids to eat greens.
