Hi guys
i thought i would share a tip i picked up from my aromatherapy book on getting rid of mould on soil.
Just add 5 drops of cinnamon essential oil to 4 pints of water and use to water your seedlings.
mine were riddles with mould and after 2 days it has vanished! and it smells nice too! ;)

Great tip Jemma - Where do you get cinnamon oil from?
Culpepper Aqui?
Great idea gardenerJ, I keep wondering if there is an essential oil that will get rid of greenfly too. I wonder if lavender would work?

Thanks for that NattyEm :) I had a look at the site and I think I'll try the tea tree and eucalyptus cures. I can use it in the bath as well after a long, hard day on the plot.
Not been to plot to do any work lately but have bought myself a new garden tool - like a cross between a hoe and a cultivator and I can't wait to get going with it. It's throwing it down at the mo so I'll have to wait a bit longer.
Happy gardening

Brilliant site NattyEm!
I think I'll give the eucalyptus a go too. My poor strawbs are terribly infested with overwintering greenfly >:(
a great website i use for essential oils is essentialoilsdirect.co.uk they are very reasonable. I have a great book on aromatherapy in the garden i will look at it at the weekend and share with you all on monday!
i used thyme and hyssop oil to deter slugs and flies in the greenhouse, it worked for a bit but then i got a bit lax and stopped doing it. i put drops of lavender and hyssop and thyme on newspaper and hung them from the greenhouse ceiling to stop flies, that was ok.
