They are beautiful! I had a really poor year for sunflowers, just couldn't get them to germinate, and the few that did have not really thrived....next year...how often do we say that...
You can't help but smile when you see a picture like that. They're lovely.
;D gorgeous
I've been growing them along the end of the allotment for so long that we got a second "row" behind the first from self-sets which are stopping me diggin out some spuds!

::)
How lovely, Saddad! :D A very cheery sight indeed.
I've never grown sunflowers at home but outside of my office, where I've been feeding the birds, some of the sunflower seeds they've been dropping since the spring grew into some beautiful sunflowers - about fifteen in total. As they were mixed in with wild roses, it was a very pretty picture :)
Such a happy flower .
Lovely pics Saddad. I love sunflowers. I have several lovely ones that the birds or voles planted. But most of those I actually sowed were very poor.
I like the ones with multiple heads.
How lovely
A vase full of sunshine! :) They're beautiful, Saddad!
I have just got permission from one of our plotholders to post a picture of "Vincent Van Triffid"... one plant about 8' tall with 20+ heads... :)
Just need OH to upload the new photos... :-[
beautiful :D,Vincent if he was hear would be chopping of his other ear with envy ;D
This year I didn't get any sunflowers planted. Too bad, because sunflower seed for birds had doubled in price
due to bad weather and other reasons. Won't let that happen again!
