Title: Feeding parsnips
Post by: manicscousers on September 19, 2011, 16:28:28
the later parsnips we sowed need to put on a bit of weight, what should I feed them with?
the ones in the other bed have been great, sowed from early march, these were sowed into april  :)
Thanks in advance for any advice  ;D

I don't think you need to feed them now - the growing season is coming to an end and last thing you want is for them to be exhausting themselves throwing out new green leaves - the roots should be expanding nicely now. It's just a case of waiting for the first frosts before you start to eat them (you can eat them now, but they're much nicer if you wait till weather turns - they get sweeter after being frosted).
