Had the pleasure of visiting this show yesterday and as always the quality was excellent.
Didn't take as many pictures as I normally do ( too busy having a good look at the exhibits) so here are the few I did take.
I hope you enjoy them.

Didn't you just like those long tables of perfect veg, you caught what I mean with your photos of the Parsnips & leeks!
Then the Dahlias well that was something else!
I only took a picture of the top exhibit a) because it was the epitomy of the quality on show and b) they were grown by a friend of mine!
Thanks TeeGee and Sunloving. I must try and get there soon. :D
Thank you both for those pictures, aren't there some wonderful growers out there!
Thanks for sharing Teegee, looks to be a top event.
Where any of those stand from Mamoth Onions?
Steve...:)
Hundreds of hours of dedication and some real expert growing. I much prefer this kind of show to the garden shows with all the fancy granite finishes and low maintainance planting :) Its such a great visual spectacle.
It does verge on the obsessive and cultish though ~ maybe im a bit jaded after a 3 hr bus ride with some big veg accolites ;D.

Not quite sure what you mean!
The 'Top' exhibitors tend to use there own 'selected' seed that they secure annually, from their own stock.
When you think about it, it took this years champion grower 25 years to reach the top.
Have to admit I think it might have been worth the wait to beat the record by about a pound and a half, usually if the record is broken it is done by only a few ounces!
The runners up tend to use Kelsae or Ailsae seed ( a x between Kelsae & Ailsa Craig) which you can buy at the show for around £4 per packet
I didn't bother because even with the right seed there is a lot of work still to do to reach the standards displayed here!
http://www.mammothonion.co.uk/ aka Robinsons Seeds...they use both names which is quite confusing. I saw their very impressive stand last year at Tatton Park..it was stunning.

We had our second show on the 3 September our vege was puny in comparison. My red onions won the special award we had this year The Local Waitrose Manager's choice...he chose out of all the first prize winners. So I was really pleased, even more so because I won a bottle of Champagne.
The company Robinsons supply giant veg seed and plants they had a stall at the show, perhaps they are who you mean.
