There's hardly room to get past it now!

It is full of fruit, hiding in among the leaves

Do you use your fruit?
My plants are only half of the size of yours and still I don't know what to do with it all.
I think we are going to have lots of seeds available this year... ;) ;D

I give most of the fruit away, it's impossible for one family to get through so much.  Everyone I've given it to comes back for more and many of them are going to grow it next year.  So that means less people to give the fruit to next year..... :(

How are you growing yours?  Climbing or on the ground?

Mine are climbing too..on arch..but as its been so dry over here...luckily..they've not gone bonkers..still plenty to eat.
I would have love to see my arch being covered and have achocha tunnel..but, there is always next year.
I grew fat baby though..my 'slipper' plant I sent to Grannyjanet to grow.
I wonder how she has done with it?
Have you grown both sorts?..I wonder if there is more flesh in 'slippers' to eat than in fat baby :-\
I'm going to have another go with 'slippers' next year..now that I've got more seeds..thanks Saddad.. ;) ;D

I found the two varieties pretty similar in eating qualities, although Fat baby is slightly earlier to start cropping.

I'm not familiar with achocha Squash, it looks great fun, I think I'll grow some next year.  I have some obelisks on my plot and they'd look great with these sprawling over them.

I've only grown slippers.  I intended to cut one open and send a photo but I totally forgot - I'll do it tomorrow.

When they are tiny they taste slightly like a cucumber but when they mature they are more like a sweet pepper.  They are nice in a stir-fry.
