Title: B....y wind
Post by: willsy on September 13, 2011, 22:04:37
Hi everyone, went on to allotment to water last of Tomatoes and the wind had taken the plastic roof off. Plus I had put ridged piece of plastic on with loads of bricks to anchor that down. Must have been a very strong wind.Anyone else had any damage.? blast....

Where abouts in the world are you willsy? Your profile doesn't appear to say.  :(

Sorry to hear about the wind damage. Down south it was difficult cycling in it but I've not heard of any damage and my bean frame is still standing well.

My bean frames are now at a tilt, they look like they've had a good night out if you know what I mean - still standing but listing a little!!

On Devon/Cornwall borders the wind comes up the Tamar like an avenging angel.  Blew down beanpoles, took off a shed roof (not mine thankfully) and reduced any un-harvested sweetcorn to crazy angles, tearing roots out of the ground.

You're right.  Bl**dy Wind!

We will soon have the clear, cool, still evenings of autumn to look forward to.

A lovely sky tonight as I cycled home.  :)

There's a large ivy-covered hawthorn down across the lane on my site.
