Title: Wales anyone?
Post by: star on September 12, 2011, 22:53:50
We are going to Wales for about 10days yay!, we thought we'd have an adventure and not book anywhere. Then having a thinky, it might be nice to have an idea of which area to head for, something rural....definitely not a commercial site.

Going in the charabang. Does anyone know of a nice spot, flat land with only toilets and shower block amenities? Anywhere like this is very hard to find on a website....so I thought I'd pick some brains.

Ideally not too far from the coast would be great. There's nothing better than a recommendation  :D

Near Criccieth :) This one is apparently good (I am on a sited site and this is close by, so although I haven't stayed there I see the site on a regular basis and camp beside it. It is near a cement works but you never hear it...and the view is superb. Lovely area)

Here you go....the site is near Pentrefelin (see photo halfway down) but we spend our time on beach at Criccieth and Black Rock....see other pictures :) I adore it and go most weekends that I can...inbetween gardening :)

I don't know if you are coming this far down but this is a gorgeous spot, http://www.porteynon.com/  and this time of year I think it would be fairly deserted. Sorry don't know anything about caravaning/site. I used to walk that way quite often and thought it would be a lovely location to stay. Not much about except for the scenery, Beach, cliffs and walks etc are fantastic.

I do hope that I am not late in posting this recommendation.  I live not far from here and its a beautiful site surrounded on 3 sides by the river Seiont.  AND there is also a garden centre there too.......can it get any better?  Yes.  You are on the doorstep of Gods own country.  Snowdonia is stunning (when the clouds part and you can see it  ;) )  They are lovely folk there and you can sleep with the sound of water running by.  Its lovely.  Try here..............
