Title: Permission to nick
Post by: Borlotti on September 09, 2011, 18:37:50
Fellow allotment owners on holiday so I have special permission to nick.  Still felt terribly guilty but have got runner beans and french beans in the freezer, and some raspberries.  Have had thank you notes for the cooking apples I give away, had so many this year.  Not many courgettes this year, so no bottles of wine, sweets or crisps, but I don't care, better than throwing the surplus produce on the compost heap, but apart from plums and strawberries early on, not too much to give to lovely neighbours, even the blackberries are rubbish this year.

It's been a mixed year here, too  :)
Our potato harvest is huge, more discovery aples and williams pears than we could cope with, A friend brought us 16 lb of damsons so he has some bottles of jam and my mustard pickle's going down a treat. Bans have been a big disappointment but the tall peas have been great. Sweet corn was wierd but we got a few. I feel really wierd going on to another person's plot to pick, I keep shouting at people that I have permission  ;D
