loads of conference pears this year, any ideas on how to use them up ?
We simply freeze our apple and pear surplus. Peel and quarter the fruit, remove cores. Place in a pyrex bowl with a little sugar and heat in the microwave until just soft (don't cook them to a slop!)
Allow to cool, then put into suitable freezer bags or trays and freeze.
We use them on cereal, or with a little cream for pudding, or in various recipes.
CIDER. ;)
