That will be because she using an ISP provided email address, which always have a size cap on them. Which is why you shoudl never use them, not to mention if you change ISP you lose your email address.

Get a web based email, and have several different ones for different things. I use 4 hotmail acounts, plus an encrypted Hushmail account (encrypted PGP) plus I have my own domain email.
