Just started to dig my late potatoes because the leaves are starting to wilt, and have found them to be a bit green. They seem to be a bit less green when you peel off more of the outer. So should I leave them in the ground a bit longer, or is there somthing else wrong.
Green usually means they've been exposed to daylight so it wouldn't help to leave them in.
Next year you need to mulch them or earth the tops to bit deeper to keep the light away.. ;)
So that means I cannot consume them.
Eating the green could make you ill......cut it all off and you will be fine!
You'd have to eat a lot to make yourself ill. I eat the green ones, and I've never made myself ill yet.
