Title: mroe useful than the met office
Post by: Multiveg on February 04, 2005, 20:56:57
I got fed up with the useless forecasts provided on the met office website, so I googled and came across this: http://www.metcheck.com

Mmm - I like this one too;  neat - I have bookmarked http://www.metcheck.com/48hrforecast.asp?lat=54&lon=-2&locationID=69 and http://www.metcheck.com/gardening/index.asp?lat=54&lon=-2&locationID=69.

The other one I have bookmarked is http://www.theweatheroutlook.com/ - intriguing long-range forecasts.

[edit]Worth exploring the metcheck site too - liked this http://www.metcheck.com/averageweather.asp

All best - Gavin

I was begining to think Metcheck were getting it right for today, as they got the midnight to noon cloudy bit right, then it rained as they said it would this afternoon, but it went wrong shortly after that as it was supposed to be cloudy with sunshine and a dry cloudy evening. ::)

Truth is it hasn't stopped raining since noon here, so I popped back to their site and low and behold they have altered the weather to rain from noon til midnight. ::) ::) ::)

They must look out the window like we do or have access to webcams around the country. ???

Until recently I worked in a building right next door to the brand-new state-of-the-art Met Office. For a laugh, we often used to compare on line weather information, with what they would actually find if they looked out the window. No prizes for guessing how often they didn't agree!! ;)
