Here you go, this will melt your brain.
I watch a lot of japanese TV on the net. Japanese TV is awesome, because theres stuff on there you couldnt possibly do on european TV - Either Health and Safety, the TV insurance company, Child Services, or the RSPCA woudl stop you. Japanese adverts are fabulous, many of them are bizzare and unfathomable.
Theres a pudding they sell in Japan called Giga Pudding, its like a giant blancemange. So to advertise it, they made a giant advert - two minutes eleven seconds to be precise. I love this advert, but watching it too many times gives you brain damage..................

Takeshi's Castle is about my limit of Japanese TV
I worked for Honda for a time and found the Japanese there hardly ever smiled or laughed. Seems they must have been missing their wobbling puddings.
OK here another one.
Nyan are the japanese version of Pop Tarts, the things you stick in a toaster, full of jam, and they come out so hot you get second degree burns trying to eat one. In Japan, they are promoted by a cartoon character called Nyancat.
This is the Nyancat advert, its worse that the gigapudding advert. If you didnt know what Nyan was, this would utterly baffle you. Either way , it also melts your brain.

Italian tv is awful, but some of the adverts are brilliant. This one is for cheese.

In Italy, late 60s/through 70s, did you ever see 'Carosello' Betty? This was a 15mnt slot of ads on abt 8.00pm, the word meaning 'merry-go-round' and the opening shot was of an old-fashioned children's fairground ride, accompanied by a catchy tune. The ads were all soft-sell little vignettes of life with the only clue to the sponsors being at the end of the individual ads. Was really a not-to-miss bit of tele.
For the hard-sell stuff tho, there was one cringeworthy one I remember. Picture an idyllic countryside scene - son and 'attractive' grey haired father having bonding time together. Both athletically jump over a 5-barred gate (so, more bounding than bonding then?) Later son and creepy dad are surrounded by son's nubile young female friends, the girls all flicking their long hair out of their eyes as they gaze adoringly at creepy dad.
So, men of A4A, how can you, too, make yourselves totally irresistible to your teenage son's girlfriends?
You gotta take a certain product every day to "regolare l'organismo" - no, nothing to do with orgasms, you lot ::)..it 's a bowel opener.
Hey! I've just watched some of - but not all :-[ - the Japanese wobbly pud ad.......anyone remember Green's Creme Caramel & do they still produce it? I remember that sachet of caramel goo in the pack. Loved it.
